If you have ever wondered what it is actually like to fly a helicopter, this is where to start.
Our Trial Introductory Flight is a genuine introductory flying lesson conducted with a qualified helicopter flight instructor.
Over approximately two hours, you will learn how a helicopter works, be introduced to its primary flight controls and then put that knowledge into practice in the aircraft.

Approximately 1-Hour Pre-Flight Briefing
Before you head to the helicopter, your instructor will introduce you to some of the fundamentals of helicopter flight.
The briefing will cover areas such as:
How a helicopter flies
The cyclic, collective and pedals
How the flight controls interact
Basic aircraft handling
What you will be doing during the flight
Essential safety procedures
No previous aviation knowledge is required.

Approximately 40 Minutes Helicopter Engine Time
Then it is time to fly.
You'll head to the helicopter with your instructor and experience the aircraft from the pilot's seat.
Once airborne and when conditions permit, your instructor will progressively introduce you to the controls and allow you to experience basic helicopter handling under their supervision.
Rather than simply being taken for a scenic flight, the focus is on giving you a genuine introduction to flying the aircraft.
The precise flight profile and recorded flight time may vary with aircraft movement, traffic, weather and operational requirements.

20–30 Minute Post-Flight Debrief
After shutdown, you will sit down with your instructor to discuss the flight, answer your questions and talk through what the next steps would look like if you decide to continue.
If you are considering a PPL(H) or CPL(H), this is also an excellent opportunity to discuss the training pathway, expected commitment and how training could fit around your schedule.
Where eligible and appropriately recorded by the training provider, flight time completed during an introductory training flight may contribute towards subsequent pilot training.
